The European Air Shooting Championships were held on February 23 – March 2 in Wrocław. Today we got photos in which our Łukasz Czapla wins a medal.

Below we present Łukasz’s story about how he was preparing for the start:

The European Championship in Wrocław was a special competition for me. Of course, there were many international events in Poland in which I participated, but they were never championship competitions. That is why I especially wanted to show my best side and of course to win the European Championship “at home”. Throughout my career, I have been waiting for such sports competitions in the country.

The preparations that I served myself were really hard – both technical training with weapons and general training, which I could extend thanks to the support of the HMS brand (I use an atlas, a chest and a rowing machine). The problem is that before the championship of form – neither sight nor hearing.

I was somewhere in the back of my mind that I would probably take my form for the competition and it would be fine. However, I wanted to see at least her glimpse of training … Qualifying for the championship was a real marathon – we were shooting from the very morning from 7 to 18. All day at the shooting range, all day of concentration and fighting with myself.

Things went so far that I got the best qualifying result and it was my best result in several years. As expected, the form came on the day of the start. Everything that I planned and wanted to do came out for me. The more I am a bit angry because of the final scoring and winning the bronze medal. As for the direct fight for the bronze medal with the Ukrainian Kizyma, I was shooting almost flawlessly, maintaining my high level in the elimination. I am happy with the bronze medal of the European Championships but I am also a little unsatisfied because I know and feel that I could win this competition in the reins. “
